My name is Jason and I am from Ohio, USA. I’ve always been interested in astronomy as a hobby since I was at least 15 years old. I also have an untapped gift for teaching others what I know.

Sharing the universe with everyone I meet and watching them make their own discoveries is a wonderful feeling. Its even better when I’m able to help the novice amateur step up on their “launch pad” and ignite their “rocket engines” into a passion for the stars. I decided that after watching so many newcomers to the hobby become frustrated to the point of quiting that I would do something about it. And so it was with that in mind that I created my YouTube channel with instructional videos to share my experience and knowledge. I try to share this knowledge in such a way as to give the novice just enough information to set them on a path to their own discoveries but not so much that they get overwhelmed.

I hope as a visitor to this site you are able to find answers to any basic question you might have. Keep in mind that this site is dedicated to the folks who have almost no knowledge on the subject matter. So if you are looking for some advanced information you will probably not find it here. However, feel free to email me at truemartian@aol.com any time. I’ll even take your advanced questions. If I don’t have an answer for you, I may know someone who does.
